Ninth Annual First Coast Honors Choir


Festival Day - Saturday, February 25

 

Singers Check-in from 8:45-9:15 a.m.

Concert begins at 3:00 p.m.


The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus is proud to offer this opportunity for 4th, 5th and 6th grade students—an Honors Choir Festival for talented singers. Teachers will attend a free workshop with Jim Papoulis at 8:30am and then singers will rehearse and perform with guest clinician and conductor Jim Papoulis in a one-day event with a concert open to parents and guests.


papoulisJim Papoulis is a composer of choral ensembles and co-founder of "The Foundation for Small Voices". Jim composes, orchestrates, and conducts music from many genres and is known for work that connects classical and world sounds with contemporary rhythms, voices, and computer technology.  Published by Boosey & Hawkes, CAN YOU HEAR and GIVE US HOPE are two of the many songs Jim has composed which have received awards and recognitions in the field of children's choral music.
